Primary function of this position is to provide leadership and responsibility for the entire B shift Maintenance Coordinators and technicians and to ensure proper management and maintenance of company assets at a local domicile to include owned, leased, and rented equipment including commercial vehicles, trailers, yard switchers, forklifts, golf carts, GPS devices, and handheld scanners, etc. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will be responsible to ensure equipment is in good working order at all times. Responsible for adherence to all company policies, procedures, DOT, C-TPAT and OSHA safety rules and regulations. This position requires professional communications, computer and presentation skills. This Position represents the company in a positive image with employees, customers and the community always performing in a safe and ethical manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responsible to ensure that scheduled maintenance and repairs are performed on all Benore equipment within prescribed timelines.

  • Ensures that an accurate, professional service record for each asset is properly maintained electronically and easily accessible for internal and external audits within compliance guidelines.

  • Required to maintain records of asset assignments and locate assets as needed.

  • Ensures all required forms and documents are completed in compliance with company rules and ISO regulations.

  • Ensures all DOT required records are maintained and accessible including eDVIR’s, repair documentation, annual inspections, etc.

  • Responsible for reviewing the parts charge out, proper work content time charge, reviews and addresses work order discrepancies, ensuring all work orders were completed properly and signed by the appropriate approvers. Conducts final inspection of work order repairs and finalizes work orders in TMT software system.

  • Responsible for the safe keeping of assets at all times to include shop tools, maintenance equipment, maintenance vehicles, maintenance shop, office, tool crib, tire trailer, etc. and ensures that all inventory is secure at all times.

  • Assist in Accident Investigations of assigned equipment and coordinates with the Transportation Department and the Director of Safety and Compliance to ensure Accident Investigations are in compliance with DOT Regulations and Benore company policies.

  • Responsible for determining emergency repairs for vehicles in route, assigning technicians or determining feasibility of outsourcing to vendors.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include: planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance (partnering with Human Resources), rewarding, coaching and assisting in disciplining employees, addressing complaints, employee engagement and resolving problems.

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position will supervise Maintenance Coordinators and technicians with entire oversight of work prioritization and daily activities. Responsibilities include: planning, assigning, and directing work, coaching, appraising performance, rewarding and assisting in disciplining employees, addressing complaints, employee engagement and resolving problems.

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Associates Degree or Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field is preferred. Five or more year’s experience in supervisory or maintenance management and eight or more years fleet vehicle maintenance is required. Demonstrated experience with equipment coordination and vehicle service writing is required. Must possess strong maintenance knowledge of vehicle computer systems.

  • SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

    Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate good communication skills both written and oral. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects. Must possess excellent personal computer skills and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e.; Word, Outlook, and Excel. Customer Service; Project Management; Continuous Improvement deliverables; Experience and knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Master mechanic experience required. Class D Driver’s license is required.
