Job Description

Primary function of this position is to direct all aspects of the Warehousing, Distribution, and In Plant Service Operations. This will include the primary functions of multi-site planning, financial budgeting, organizing, staffing, project management leadership, directing overall initiatives and site goals as well as ensuring sites performance in conjunction with our customer’s expectations are met. The General Manager will devise strategies and formulate policies in conjunction with top management to ensure that overall objectives are met. Works directly with our customers to implement and execute optimization strategies that bring value with company profit goals. This position will be the primary customer leadership resource and will ensure that our teams remain focused and aligned with customer expectations and daily deliverables. Weekly customer communication interface is essential to ensuring partnership opportunities are created for new business and/or business enhancement. This position requires professional communication, computer, and presentation skills. Employee represents the company in a positive image with our employees, customers, and community in a safe and ethical manner.

Qualified Candidates will possess:

  • Bachelors degree in operations, supply chain management, business or related field
  • Minimum of 8 -10 years experience in supervision/management of a fast paced logistics/warehousing/distribution operation
  • Hands on knowledge of SAP, WMS or other systems (PkMS, Red Prairie, Oracle, etc.)
  • Managed a stand alone distribution center with over 50 employees and at least three direct reports (supervisors)
  • P & L responsibility, familiar with AP, invoicing, etc.
  • Familiar with incentive based pay for work performance
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology, process improvement, etc.
  • Experience tracking metrics, measuring productivity, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA and ISO quality management systems
  • Ability to manage a multi-shift, 24/6 day operation

Preferred Candidates will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven leadership in similar operations
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Detailed and goal oriented
